At Rejuvenate Wellness and MedSpa, we just launched IV Vitamin Therapy about six months ago. This treatment has been a huge hit in bigger cities, such as Memphis and Nashville, and we are so excited to be the first to offer it in the more rural areas of Henderson and Jackson, Tennessee. Since some people still feel safer at home, I want to provide you all with some information on how to boost your immune system with items in your pantry.
How it works…
It has already been established that high dose Vitamin C can be used off-label to treat sepsis, and now several articles have been published suggesting that IV vitamin C and zinc may be beneficial in treating patients with COVID-19. More research is needed to know if it’s really effective in treating the coronavirus, but we can still do our part to take care of the bodies God gave us to help support our immune system.
First Things First
You have to start with choosing a healthy lifestyle. Don’t smoke. If you drink, drink in moderation. Eat fruits and vegetables. Exercise regularly. Get enough sleep. You know the drill. More specifically, incorporating the following foods into your diet can help boost your immune system naturally:
- Vitamin C: citrus fruits, bell peppers, spinach, and kale
- Vitamin D: salmon, tuna, and fortified dairy products (+ sunshine!)
- Vitamin E: almonds, peanuts, spinach, and broccoli
- Zinc: oysters, crab, lean meats and poultry
Tip: Fresh produce is always best, but if it’s not available, frozen is the next best thing.
