Since Rejuvenate Wellness and Medspa opened in 2016, we have welcomed many new clients interested in injectable aesthetics. It is certainly one of my passions, and one that always brings great joy to our clients, and myself.
If you are a newbie to Botox or have been on the fence about when to start Botox treatments, here are a few tips I will share with you.
Before your first Botox treatment, do some research on the provider. It is important that you make an educated decision on who will be injecting your facial muscles. Schedule a face to face consult or telehealth visit with who you choose to discuss concerns, ask about their credentials, and gather a few reviews online.
Every single client we see for injectable consultations are unique. There are no two faces that are exactly the same, as well as no magical age in which injections become most beneficial. Of course, Botox is FDA approved and works to smooth out pesky forehead lines and crows feet, but it is also indicated for preventative measures for anti-aging. It can help stop the wrinkling process before it even begins so you don’t have to decide when the right time to start Botox will be. Best of all, results will look completely natural when the treatment is performed correctly.
Botox Cosmetic works by relaxing muscles where it is injected. Studies show it lifts the skin, smooths out fine lines and wrinkles, and produces characteristics consistent with youthful skin. Data has shown there are improvements in elasticity, pliability, and radiance of skin. It decreases sweat and sebaceous gland activity to improve skin texture and sheen and can help with an oily T-Zone of the face and cheeks. While it may seem scary to have injections of Botox in your face, it is completely safe. This is especially true when compared to more invasive cosmetic procedures. Furthermore, in small doses, fewer than 1% of patients experience an adverse reaction to Botox.
After your first treatment, don’t expect to immediately look 2 decades younger. Immediately after, expect to have some redness for 15-20 minutes and don’t plan on a heavy workout or a massage for 24 hours. You can plan on re-applying your makeup 30 minutes after your treatment is complete. Also, for Botox to take maximum effect, it takes 14 days to see full results. At this time, we want to see you back in the office for a quick 5 minute follow up to make sure your treatment is perfect and that you don’t need a touch up of Botox for your best results.
At Rejuvenate, it is our goal to customize a treatment plan that is individualized and based on your aesthetic desires. This includes a timeline for Botox, filler, getting you started on the correct ZO Skin Health regimen to further enhance your results, and schedule professional treatments with our licensed aesthetician to bring out your BEST skin. When you are ready, we are here and excited to help you through your journey.
